Through our partnership with The Alberta Abbey, we bring more power to creatives with free, all ages workshops! Our workshops are designed for and by creatives to maximize our growth. Whether you are just getting into a craft or you have been at it for years, we will always need to hone these skills and educate ourselves on the industry we operate in.

The workshops are broken up into 3 portions. The first is Networking, one of the most vital skills for creatives to master. Followed by an educator from the community that oversees the educational portion. This workshop is catered to the creative industry. From Business 101 to Work-Life Balance, the middle workshop is meant to help us be more successful in our creative avenues.

After a break for food (provided by The Listen Movement), we begin the Creative Roundtable.

During the Creative Roundtable everyone has the chance to join a group conversation about the topics covered or any other topics that have been on the creatives minds. The goal is to allow attendees to ask the deeper questions that will help them internalize the information. It's also a great way for everyone to learn from each other!

Networking

portland social work

To start it off is Networking. Everyone gets to know each other through prompts and group activities and we learn/practice different ways of networking. During the activities we will be able to get to know the other creatives, what resources they bring to the table and what we could potentially offer them. You would be surprised what resources the people around you have to offer or what they could use your help with!

Educational Portion

We invite a guest educator from within the community to host the middle portion of the workshops. This educator will be focused on bettering the lifestyle of creatives as well as providing resources that make it more likely for us to succeed within our chosen medium. For example: Creative Business 101, Freelancing 101, Building Better Habits - Time Management, Promotion/Marketing 101 and much more. Soon, we will start including 101 workshops for different creative mediums!

Creative Roundtable

After the educational portion, The Listen Movement will provide food for the attendees (fill out the "Workshop Attendance Form" prior to arrival to list any dietary restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate). While everyone is mingling and eating we will set up for the Creative Roundtable. During this time, the attendees have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in deep conversations with their peers. It is encouraged to "rabbit hole" on the topics. The goal is for attendees to fully grasp the topics that are being conversed.
