The majority of creatives lack access to actionable education for their goals and ambitions. As the world begins to recognize the importance of art, in all of its forms, The Listen Movement aims to build a foundation for those creatives to grow and learn the necessary skills to pursue their chosen paths.
The Listen Movement is comprised of people from many walks of life. We come together to help provide the education and resources that we wished were available when we began our journeys. The creative industry is a treacherous one and we learn too quickly that a skillset or "product/service" we offer isn’t always going to create opportunity. Often, it seems as if there is a locked gate blocking us from everything we strive for.
At The Listen Movement, we believe that with access to the right information and the right community, any creative can successfully forge their own path.
Through our partnership with The Alberta Abbey, we bring more power to artists/creatives with free, all ages workshops! Our workshops are designed for and by creatives to maximize growth. Whether you are just getting into a craft or you have been at it for years, we all need to hone these skills and educate ourselves on the industry we operate in.
The workshops are broken up into 3 portions. The first is Networking, one of the most vital skills for creatives to master. Followed by an educator from the community that oversees the educational portion. This workshop is catered to the creative industry. From Business 101 to Work-Life Balance, the middle workshop is meant to help us be more successful in our creative avenues.
After a break for food (provided by The Listen Movement) we begin the Creative Roundtable.
During the Creative Roundtable everyone has the chance to join a group conversation about the topics covered or any other topics that have been on the collective mind. The goal is to allow everyone to ask deeper questions that will help them internalize the information. It’s also a great way for everyone to learn from each other!
